The crime happened in Richmond Heights, an inner ring community just outside of the city boundary. Not to suggest that there are not racists in St. Louis but I don't recall an occurrence such as this anywhere in the city for the past 20 years. The time of this seems very, very odd. So some skinhead got drunk on a Sunday night and decided to spray paint homes with 'KKK' in a black neighborhood? Just a spur of the moment, random thing? They caught the guy so I am interest to follow the story in the future to hear more on the motivation. Here is video from the local news station if anyone is interested. They interview a few of the residents in the effected neighborhood.

Tip of the hat to jenesq for pointing out the correct suburb as Richmond Heights as opposed to Maryland Heights.
