I just received this email from Richard Trumpka from the AFL-CIO
Michael,
I just got this dispatch from our Campaigns Director, and I'm forwarding it straight to you. There's no time to waste -- get on the phone.
Call 888-979-7280 RIGHT NOW to save the rights of Michigan's workers. Tell your state senator to vote NO on Michigan's "right to work" bill.
In Solidarity,
Richard Trumka
President, AFL-CIO

RTW is moving in the MI senate as I type. We need to move now to stop it. We’re putting up the phones at full throttle.
RTW legislation isn't just bad for unions, or bad for Michigan, it is bad for everyone. States with RTW legislation have lower wages, less health benefits, higher poverty levels and a higher rate of workplace fatalities. Please, if you are in Michigan (or anywhere else) get involved to stop this legislation! It is believed that the senate GOP will introduce this legislation @ 4 today and try to push it through during the lame duck session.
2:17 PM PT: Thanks to peregrine kate for the update!
We need and are anticipating a large number of people to join us in Lansing to lobby the Legislature tomorrow (Thursday), December 6.
If you can take the day off to come to Lansing it would be very helpful.
There are two staging locations - the AFL HQ at 419 S. Washington and the Local 724 UAW Hall at 450 Clare St. The UAW Hall will be the best place to go - it has more parking and is a larger hall. Please encourage folks to to go to the 724 UAW Hall instead of the AFL HQ.
Shift times at UAW 724 begin at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10 .
