Spent the weekend down in Thibodeaux, finally resuming work on the bluegrass record with the Moss Pickers, which, hell or high water, will come out this year.
I do like the drive, especially getting off 10 and 90 and hitting the smaller roads like 308 from Raceland to Thibodeaux. If you're ever down this way, take some time to hit the backroads. There's a heck of a lot to see; just ask Ian McNulty.
Driving down and back, I set up the trusty $20 video cam on the rearview and got some half-decent road shots, mixed in a couple more from out in the western part of the state near Leesville and some odd shots around New Orleans to make today's presentation.
The song is "Road 2 Go" from the 2008 "Private Islands" album, another one of my more heavily (illegally) downloaded cuts. I figure if people want to listen to my stuff, they should at least have to watch my videos, too.
At any rate, I hope you enjoy today's mini-cine. Perhaps it doesn't pack the same emotional punch as some other pieces, but it's still pretty, um, moving.
