I am not sure about others, but it was very tiresome when the right was on their jihad against the TSA. I travel a great deal and thought there was nothing new when they changed techniques. Nothing when they put in the xray machines. But all we heard about was groping, manhandling, looking at bodies, etc. In other countries that's mild. But that was all we heard. "The TSA is violating our freedom", "unreasonable search", "violating our constitution".
But in Virginia, only a short time after the TSA complaints, the governor and his buddies have no problem forcing a woman to have a transvaginal ultrasound forced on a woman. Not only forced, but required. And by a doctor. And the image has to be put in her medical file for all time to remind her she had an abortion. McDonnell would scream about this violation, right? He would say it is even worse than what the TSA forces on weary travelers, right?
Sorry but no. He said there was no comparison between the TSA and what Jon Stewart called "a TSA pat-down inside their vagina". McDonnell said that what is accomplished by body scans by the TSA can be gotten in many other ways. But the ultrasound is ok. It is something that respects the dignity of a woman by making sure she has information Really?
This guy wants to be VP for Santorum or Romney. I hope so. Maybe sunlight is the best disinfectant. The more people see of these right wing nuts, hopefully the more strident women and independents realize that the Republicans are not interested in the constitution when it comes to right to privacy ..... for women,
