I find this piece important because the images of ourselves in the media and at our own events are usually of the following sort:
This short video shows our community as we really are. Average people living average lives. Yes, we have our own little idiosyncrasies of flair, flamboyance and fabulousness but as a whole that is just a small component of who we are as individuals.
So the next time the AFA or Constipated Women of America do their blast of pride party photos. Make sure you have this one at hand for a rebuttal.
We also need to point out to them that photos like this from a Spring Break party are not used as representative of all straight people. In that vein why do we let straight people take pictures? I had to go through six pages of underexposed shots before I could find something I could use.
