Paging Keith Olbermann, we've got your "Worst Person In The World" right here.
Today in questionable campaign strategies: A Republican running for Congress in Illinois says that the Holocaust is the “biggest, blackest lie in history.”
Arthur Jones, an insurance salesman who is running for the Republican nomination in Illinois’ 3rd District, is a former member of the Nationalist Socialist White People’s Party and once wrote a flyer calling the Holocaust an “international extortion racket.”
“This idea that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust is the biggest, blackest lie in history,” he told KMOX, a CBS affiliate in St. Louis. “There is no proof that the Holocaust took place in Europe against the Jews.”

I wonder what gave Arthur Jones the idea that the Republican party is the place for him?
More below the fold
Appealing to white supremacists isn't a bug in the Republican party, its' a feature. This is what happens when you follow a 50 State Southern Strategy to it's logical conclusion after 30 years, when you are a party of birthers, climate changer deniers, homophobes, misogynists, xenophobes, torture supporters and bald faced liars this is what you end up with. Hell, at the last CPAC convention the Republican party invited Peter Brimelow, the white nationalist founder of VDare.com. When you invite White Nationalists in your tent you can't act surprised when holocaust denying white supremacists show up too.
Honestly, this stuff doesn't even surprise me anymore. The GOP is fully committed to demonizing every minority they can find, it is no wonder that openly racist and hateful conspiracy theorists feel comfortable with an R next to their name. I'll just sit here and wait patiently while the Illinois GOP denounces Arthur Jones and distances themselves from his openly hateful, bigoted, white supremacist and anti-semitic conspiracy theory laden world views. I'm sure they will be doing so any minute now. Any minute now.
Actually, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Fish will learn how to walk before Republicans learn how to hold their own accountable.
I wouldn't hold my breath on that one either.
