What a fucking joke. Bonddad now has "fans" sending "messages" to Daily Kos when he won't come here. I never was a real part of the bonddad wars, although I thought his attacks on Meteor Blades were incorrect and low blows, and criticized him for that. In 2009 prosperity always was just around the corner for him, while for bobswern, we were doomed. A little exagerration for each; they were more nuanced, but it captures an aspect of the debate. The truth, as usual, was more complex than either pole of discussion, but both poles were useful in helping understanding. Bobswern stayed and put up with some heavy attacks and criticism, and still posts nowadays from time to time. Bonddad left.
And I'm not experienced in bond trading, so I guess I can't talk about economics according to the headline on his fans diary, but I watched economists, which he is not, tell us for decades how free market fundamentalism was so good, and we saw how that ended up. I think we need more bloggers talking about the economy, regrdless of their "credentials." The economy is too important to leave to "experts." That said, I read Krugman, Dean Baker, Stiglitz, Bernstein, and others from time to time.
And if Bonddad has a message to Daily Kos, he really ought to post here and engage critics. "messages" are really rather pathetic, in my view.
My rant.
I'm glad the economy is improving and hope Obama will be re-eelcted. There are many battles ahead for progressives, abnd fighting the weight of discredited economic beliefs is one of them.
Solidarity.
