Good Morning! I received an email a few days ago regarding the upcoming Week of Action for Women's Health in recognition of the Affordable Healthcare Act. One of the most serious health crisis that women face are chemical dependency and the co-occurring mental health disorders that often accompany the illness of addiction. A small group of healthcare professionals and I have created a non profit extended care treatment organization in our area to address this issue. A growing population that is not getting their needs addressed related to this healthcare crisis are women veterans, our organization will help to also fill this need. Recently we launched our website www.asburyhouse.org and we are also now on Facebookunder Asbury House, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Please check out the website and like us on Facebook so that we can get the word out that we are raising the funds to purchase our first treatment facility.
I've included additional information beneath the folds. For those of you from the Dkos community who have thus far donated and who have spread the word of our work we are forever grateful
During the beginning of this year Asbury House launched its capital campaign for the purpose of purchasing our first residential extended care treatment center for women to be located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
We have received a great deal of support and encouragement for our mission. As we move into the season of growth and rejuvenation we are heartened by the response we have received as we continue with the work needed to purchase the building. We are a team of dedicated Colorado behavioral healthcare professionals who will provide a truly necessary mode of care and lifestyle change for women in northern Colorado. We plan to provide quality and competent treatment for women who struggle with substance use disorders, including chronic relapse, in addition to mental health disorders that often accompany the illness of addiction. We have found that this is a much needed and desired public service offering in the northern Colorado area. Our mission is being met with a great deal of enthusiasm and support. We would like to encourage you to join us by supporting this Capital Campaign to purchase the building that will house the first treatment center for women of its kind to be located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
We intend to operate the residential facility in an existing multi-purpose facility which can house 24 women clients. The grounds and buildings allow for a very unique therapeutic environment incorporating the best state-of- the -art best practices to address the spectrum of issues that arise when a woman enters treatment. The professional space is also plentiful and well suited for both individual counseling and group counseling.
The Capital Campaign will provide an opportunity to translate our mission into action to establish this much needed service. The building and land can be purchased for $750,000. Our goal is to obtain 70% of that amount through mortgage financing. Through this campaign we are also seeking to fund-raise the remaining 30% of that the mortgage cost and an additional $125,000 for upgrades and outfitting the building.
We urge you to be a part of this exciting and rewarding campaign and our effort to help women in northern Colorado by generously donating to our cause.
