Since Barack Obama was inaugurated, there has been a concerted effort on the right to delegitimize his presidency.
There has been an effort on the right to stoke the fire of hate with innuendos and code words.
Elected Senators and Representatives obstruct this President's agenda.
The Obama Derangement Syndrome is in full force and will only get louder and meaner the closer to November we are.
This has caused me utter despair.
Think about the last four years.
It started with the "You Lie!" shout during the State of the Union Address. Unprecedented.
And no one on the right said a word. In fact, the Senate's Minority Leader, one of the leaders of the Republican Party, overtly declared from the floor of the Senate, for all the world to see, that their job was to deny any success to President Obama, hence, ruining his reelection. Again, unprecedented.
Malitias rapidly grew. Then there was the whole birth certificate debacle, not to mention the whole, what religion is Obama?
The opposition could care less about the average person. Deny passing a jobs bill. Try and try to dismantle Medicare and Medicaid. Leave the car industry to die.
Pointing out the obvious examples could go on for days.
At first, I could laugh at the GOP. But now?
They scare me. The far right went off the ledge when Obama was elected, and are now speeding up there infiltration of their ideology as fast as possible.
And now the Supreme Court might kill the ACA, a law, though not perfect, has helped many people I know.
And if they strike down health care, they strike down America. Soon, only the rich will be able to get good care. Only the rich will be able to get an education.
There will be the Haves and the Have Mores, as George Bush once said.
And the far right will spread their ideology everywhere, demanding we live by their rules. And if they control both Houses of Congress, and the White House? Disaster.
A week ago I used to joke about this, but now it scares me.
We are one election away from the Hunger Games.
