One of the most striking facets of the Republican primary is the notable absence--some might say, complete disappearance--of George W. Bush or, indeed, anything that may have happened to this country in the eight years preceding the election of Barack Obama. Coming from a party that has never deigned to offer a word of support for this Administration, even to the point of deriding his accomplishment of killing Osama Bin laden, this absence is inexplicable. The Obama campaign has decided to helpfully remedy that omission and jog some reluctant memories.
Eight months before voters decide whether or not to give President Obama another four years in power, his re-election team wants to remind them of what life was like three years ago
Titled, "The Road We've Traveled," the 17-minute film was produced by Davis Guggenheim, who directed Mr. Obama's infomercial released just before the 2008 election and former Vice President Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth."
To be released on March 15th, the movie includes interviews with top advisers talking about the challenges they faced coming into office and what actions they took in response.
The Trailer is narrated by
Tom Hanks. Oh, and Bin Laden is mentioned, among a few other things.
