I just heard the news about Dick Clark and felt a bit of nostalgia. After all, my friends and I spent afternoons after school learning to dance along the "regulars" on American Banstand.
Then I changed the channel and heard the pontification of one who should shut up.
And as I wished him to shut up, a rage built within me. Seems like there are a lot of people who need to simply shut up.
Here is my list of " those who should shut up."
1. Dylan Rattigan: could anyone be more pompous and obnoxious? Is he ever positive, or is he on a continuous rant everyday.
2. One Direction: throw Bieber in there, too. Haven't we about had enough of boy bands? Seems as if they spring up each five years or so. Anyone remember O-Town?
3. Dr. Drew: stop trying to diagnose caller's problems. I'd rather spend $150.00 an hour to get reminded of my neurosis. At least then I can leave with a script of Xanax.
4. Donald Trump and the rest of the birthers: can we just put this to rest? Will I have to listen to Howard Fineman on this issue? Cause he should shut up, too.
5. Sarah Palin: hey, media people. She has no credibility. Just because she spouts irrational, uninformed facts, does not mean every utterance from her makes a good news story. Throw Virginia Fox in there.
6. Mitt Romney: he spews nothing but lies and more lies.
7. Chuck Todd: when did he become the know-it-all of politics? And that goes for his Karl Rove dancing buddy, David Gregory.
These people irritate me so........
Well. RIP, Dick.
Who would you put on your list?
2:04 PM PT: I am placing Ryan Seacrest on the list: guaranteed he will be interviewed on every network. Just don't let Barry Manilow sing the Bandstand theme.
Yeah, and put another Ryan on the list- Paul Ryan. Do I need to state why?
Here's my new philosophy: oh, yeah? Oh yeah? Well....... Just shut up!
Now I will pour myself a Skinny Girl Cosmo and to honor Dick Clark, I will watch " The Big Chill."
Anyone remember who got his acting break lying on the coffin in the opening scene?
