WYFP is our community's Saturday evening gathering to talk about our problems, empathize with one another, and share advice, pootie pictures, favorite adult beverages, and anything else that we think might help. Everyone and all sorts of troubles are welcome. May we find peace and healing here. Won't you please share the joy of WYFP by recommending?
Keeping track of my expanded family is like herding cats:
Or maybe more like juggling them:
But finally, I think I'm finally on the way to getting back on track. Continued below the twisted Cheeto...
Now that we've got our insurance situation squared away (insert 250 assorted expletives on the need for single payer like in most sane countries), we're working on getting back on our proper medications. I've been doing what I can with what I have (mostly OTC things like vitamins and the like), but my body definitely feels sluggish and draggy; getting back on track with prescriptions will hopefully help get other things done in my life by giving me more energy.
I'm also trying to get myself back on track in other areas; I'm a crocheter and want to make an afghan for my nephew and his wife for their upcoming wedding, but haven't been able to find (1) the energy (2) the proper pattern and (3) the time. Well, I finally got the pattern (loosely based on one I remembered doing several years ago) and the time (it's Stanley Cup playoff time so I'm spending quite a bit of time with the TV, especially in the evenings), now just need to find the energy to get it done. Finished the first of the strips last night and have the rest pretty well planned.
There's still a lot of other cats I'm trying to keep in the air, from reminding my spouse of important duties (and stuff that's not so important like our anniversary yesterday) to dealing with the daily call from my brother-in-law because he wants my spouse's help with something. I do manage, and it's a lot easier now that he's retired and can handle much of the Mom Patrol duties, but it's still tiring at times.
Yesterday was our 21st wedding anniversary, and while I still love him a lot and feel that we balance each other well, next life I'm sincerely considering marrying an independently wealthy orphan who's an only child.
So, how many cats are you juggling these days?
