Who doesn't love a good prank? C'mon, we even have an unofficial holiday for pranks on April 1. Some of the best and most memorable pranks take place in high school....
Back in middle school (we called it junior-high back then), we were forced to wear neckties. The older guys went around "testing" ties by pulling on them. Pity the feckless 7th-grader that had the poor judgement to wear a clip-on.
I am old enough to remember when cafeteria milk came in glass bottles with foil caps. A great prank involved tampering with someone's milk bottle while they were absent from the table. The trick was to invert the bottle and carefully peel down the sides of the cap and then deftly slide the cap out from under the bottle. With sufficient skill this could be done without spilling a drop of milk. Imagine the look on the owners face when he or she returned to their seat.
When I was teaching high school, many years later, I had a habit of taking off my sportcoat and draping it over the back of my chair. Once, upon returning to the classroom one afternoon, I discovered one of my favorite students, wearing my sportcoat, while on his knees (I am short) at the blackboard, pretending to lecture. I couldn't stop laughing.
Gay bashing is not a prank Mr. Romney.
