Results: Arizona | Arkansas | Maine | Nevada | N. Dakota | S. Carolina | Virginia
6:23 PM PT: So now we're up to 91% reporting in SC-07 (D), and Gloria Tinubu leads Preston Brittain 48-37. Our back-of-the-envelope model (which is just a straight linear projection based on how counties have already reported) suggests Tinubu will narrowly miss avoiding a runoff, with just under 49% of the vote.
6:27 PM PT: North Dakota doesn't have one exact poll closing time: Polls can close anywhere from 8pm to 10pm ET in the eastern half of the state, and an hour later in the western half of the state. So you'll notice there are some scattered votes that have already trickled in.
6:28 PM PT: In ND-AL (R), only 3% is reporting so far, but Brian Kalk (who was getting rocked in the polls) is up 53-47 over Kevin Cramer.
6:35 PM PT (James L): Just touching base in Arkansas: In AR-01 (D), prosecutor Scott Ellington leads state Rep. Clark Hall by 56-44 with 13% in. An in AR-04 (D), state Sen. Gene "This is the default page for genejeffressforcongress.com" Jeffress leads attorney Q. Byrum Hurst by 62-38 with 12% reporting.
6:42 PM PT (jeffmd): Piecing results together from the AP and Horry County's website, we see Gloria Tinubu at 48.9. The remaining precincts won't be enough to put her above 50; the AP has accordingly called for Tinubu and Brittain in a runoff.
6:45 PM PT (Steve Singiser): They are still counting votes in Maine at their accustomed leisurely pace, but Republicans cannot be all that happy about what they've seen thus far. Kevin Raye already has the AP check by his name in ME-02, but his performance against a Some Dude (62-38) is pretty unimpressive.
What's less impressive? Losing, which for the moment is what state senate Majority Leader Jon Courtney is doing (by six votes!) against failed 2010 state legislative candidate Patrick Calder in ME-01.
Meanwhile, the GOP battle for the U.S. Senate nomination shows no one breaking out, with the leader (Charles Summers) at just 27 percent.
On the Democratic side, state senator Cynthia Dill has a modest lead (44-39) over former Sec. of State Matt Dunlap, with the balance of the field way behind.
6:45 PM PT (James L): The AP has also called a runoff in SC-07 (R) for Andre "1000" Bauer and Horry County Council Chair Tom Rice.
6:56 PM PT: With a little more than a third of the vote counted in both the AR-01 and AR-04 Dem primaries, Ellington leads Clark 56-44 in the former and Jeffress leads Hurst 60-40 in the latter.
7:00 PM PT: Polls are now closed in Arizona, where the night's biggest contest—the special election to succeed Gabby Giffords—is taking place.
7:12 PM PT (James L): You'll have to hang tight, though – it sounds like we won't be getting any results from Arizona for another hour, according to Pima County Elections Director Brad Nelson.
7:13 PM PT: With 23% reporting in ND-AL (R), Kevin Cramer has a smallish 53-47 lead over Brian Kalk—far smaller than the most recent independent poll predicted.
7:16 PM PT: Polls are also closed in Nevada, but not seeing any results yet.
7:23 PM PT: The AP calls ND-Sen (R) for Rick Berg (no surprise), who dispatches Duane Sand by a 2-to-1 margin. He'll face Democrat Heidi Heitkamp in November in this open Senate seat.
7:37 PM PT (David Jarman): Is the ME-01 Republican primary the most exciting race of the night? So far, yes... after a few minutes there where presumed frontrunner (and state Sen. GOP leader) Jon Courtney was ahead, some dudeish Patrick Calder pulled back into the lead, 5,113 votes to 5,051 (with 39% reporting). Meanwhile, in ME-Sen, with 57% in, Cynthia Dill leads Matt Dunlap on the Dem side, 45-37, while Charlie Summers has expanded his lead on the GOP side, leading Bruce Poliquin 29-23 (with Richard Bennett at 17, and Scott D'Amboise at 12).
7:47 PM PT (jeffmd): Early votes and votes-by-mail are starting to trickle in in Nevada, where Barbara Cegavske has a slim 30-28 lead over Danny Tarkanian, according to the Secretary of State.
7:54 PM PT: The liveblog continues in thread the third.
