Everybody's worried about stopping terrorism. Well,
there's a really easy way: stop participating in it.

Generational Theft
By: Thomas P. Davis - Firdoglake
Real generational theft has real and tangible effects, not imaginary ones that will affect straw boys and straw girls. Those of the tangible variety have been identified by a new report put out by UNICEF Measuring Child Poverty. To the extent that we can quantify suffering, the indicators are absolutely painful.
From The Guardian:
Drone blitz on Pakistan enters third straight day
Up to 27 people have died in strikes that began on Saturday as US shows no signs of bowing to Pakistani objections
Rockets fired from a US drone killed between eight and 15 people in north-west Pakistan on Monday, officials have said in varying accounts. It is the third strike in as many days after attacks on Saturday and Sunday killed a total of 12 people.
I'm not cleaning its cage so knock yourselves out on this from the BBC:
Will we ever… clone a mammoth?
Bringing the prehistoric animal back to life will require dexterity with DNA, a slice of luck and an intimate knowledge of an elephant’s reproductive system.
Tens of thousands of years ago, woolly mammoths roamed the northern hemisphere. These giant beasts may now be extinct, but some of their bodies still remain in the frozen Arctic wilderness. Several dozen such carcasses have now been found, and some are in extremely good condition. Scientists have used these remains to discover much about how the mammoth lived and died, and even to sequence most of its genome. But can they also bring the animal back from the dead? Will the woolly mammoth walk again?
From the CBC: Is the Boston Bruins' goalie, Tim Thomas, going Galt?
Bruins' Tim Thomas takes to Facebook, plans layoff
Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas gave his first public indication that he will take a season off in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli confirmed an earlier report on Friday that two-time Vezina Trophy winning goalie Tim Thomas surprised the team last month to advise them of the possibility he'd sit out next season due to family reasons.
...snip...
Thomas made waves midway through the season when he did not accompany his teammates to the White House for a ceremony honouring their 2011 Stanley Cup win. He said on Facebook at the time that it was not a partisan decision, and then refused to talk to reporters about the decision on numerous occasions.
To avoid giving the police a reason to arrest them,
students in Montreal toned down their planned nude protest:
Originally billed as a totally bare march, many students said they realized they could run afoul of the law if they went buck naked so they toned it down.
Thongs, bikini bottoms, bras, bandeaus, jock straps, boxer shorts, briefs and a couple of very dare-to-be-bare men with socks on their nether regions were the costume du jour.
Some of the women were topless, but they used red paint, those ubiquitous red squares and other means to cover their breasts to avoid arrest for indecent exposure.
The symbolism of the nearly nude event was featured in the chants the students shouted out as they marched through Montreal's Plateau neighbourhoold: "Tout nu dehors, jusqu'a la victoire," which translates to naked outside until victory, but doesn't rhyme in English.
Anonymous allegedly hacked ticket sales for The Grand Prix De Montreal and released the names and personal information of some of the people that bought tickets:
Montreal F1 ticket-buyers hacked by Anonymous
More than 130 people who bought F1 Montreal tickets received threatening emails warning them not to attend the race.
...snip...
"For several weeks, ticket sales have been very low, nothing like what we normally see," race boss François Dumontier told CBC's French-language service.
Anonymous's previous offensives against the Quebec government temporarily downed several ministries' websites and are thought to have shut down the Quebec Liberal Party's site as well.
Earlier this week, the hacker collective posted online a two-hour-long private video of Quebec Premier Jean Charest and other dignitaries, including former prime ministers Jean Chrétien and Brian Mulroney and former U.S. president George H.W. Bush, hobnobbing with corporate and political elites at an opulent birthday party for Jacqueline Desmarais, wife of Power Corp. ex-CEO Paul Desmarais.
The video, filmed at the Desmarais family's estate in Quebec's Charlevoix region, captures a sumptuous, multimillion-dollar white-tie affair [snip]

Space shuttle Enterprise sails past New York
Telegraph.co.uk
Space shuttle Enterprise begins its last journey over sea, passing New York's iconic landmarks while on its way to its new home at the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum.
The shuttle flew in from Washington to New York atop an airplane on April 23 and stayed at the Kennedy Airport until Sunday where it was placed on top of a barge that moved it towards its final destination- the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum where it will be on permanent display.
