I've heard it. A lot. All over the place. Over and over. If I am forced to buy health insurance, I'm going to shut down. That's right. Lay everyone off. Nail the doors shut. Bolt the shutters. Shut off the electricity. And, I guess, go on welfare...
So I need your help. Help me find one actual business. Just one. One that is shutting down rather than buying health insurance for their employees. That's right. Find that one company that will be giving it all up. Income. Profit. Time and money invested. Customer base. Business plan. The whole shebang - to go on the dole (I suppose) - rather than purchase health insurance (because you don't want your employees to be healthy and show up more often for work). Apparently these companies exist. And there's thousands of them. Should be easy.
While you're looking, also find one company with a real plan to hire more employees that changed their minds SOLELY because of the ACA. The ACA that doesn't even come into full effect until 2014, by the way. For instance, they had it written down that they were planning to grow to hire, say, 1000 new employees by Jan, 2014, but JUST because of ACA they decided to stick at 49. Find that one small business with a strategic growth plan that is driven ONLY by health insurance costs.
I'll wait. I'm patient. No pun intended.
When you find one, I need contact information. I need to know it's true.
