The Storyline
Isabelle and her childhood friend Karin now operate the Cafe Alt Wien, a coffee shop in Vienna which used to be owned by Isabelle's Aunt Maria. It's a place where the guests come to be alone together, as they drink great coffees and read the local paper.
To Karin, something seems amiss with her friend Isabelle and to Isabelle, there seems to be something her friend Karin is holding back. As it turns out, each good friend has a story concerning their relationships with the men in their lives that they can only share after a little time to reflect and some coffee.
Outside of the shop, Karin and her boyfriend Andreas are learning to live with their newly born baby girl Christina. And Dominik is having trouble communicating his feelings to Isabelle. Their two adorable sons Sebastian and Maximilian love to hear Isabelle's bedtime stories until they drift off to sleep.
One evening, Isabelle tells them about the very beginning of the making of coffee in Wien and how people came to like to drink it. But does she even realize that the legend of coffee is also the long lost legend of her own family?
