Due to a delay in receiving the funds raised here with Chip-In (Okiciyap still needs Broadband & Laptops), the Pantry had to turn away tribal members. We have an Angel amongst us who manages the widget and sends Okiciyap the bucks promptly, still it's snail mail, receiving and depositing, not immediate like pay-pal. While I pray constantly for a grant to come through for Okiciyap, it's our donations small and large that are making a world of difference in their lives. There is now a shortage of food to buy and they are looking at the possibility of purchasing costlier products further out. What Okiciyap needs from us is to keep sending them checks! I sent my Spirit Dancer Challenge* check in today. Once they have broadband, laptops and access to funds immediately, they will be able to help provide more food for their people. So, as a reminder to the Challenge acceptors, Please send your checks to:

*The Spirit Dancer Challenge is .18 cents a day roughly $5.50/month for 30 Pounds of Food - Thanks!
Of course Chip-In donations welcome to, we just need to keep cash flowing their way as people are hungry, Folks.
Why you might ask do I care about the people that Okiciyap helps instead of my own community? My community has resources for people. Children & parents come first, then seniors, disabled and single older people coming last. I personally know hunger. It's not fun, you can't think clearly and make good decisions. It squashes your spirit... The people Okiciyap helps are our brothers and sisters, no one deserves to be hungry so please, if you can, send them some $$$. Here's the breakdown:
Cost of food breakdown:
$0.18 buys 1 pound of food
$1.80 buys 10 pounds of food
$18.00 buys 100 pounds of food
Now for some good news, here's the latest from Cindy:
We got two more boxes today and they were most welcome, more board game for the older set! (late teens & older). The sox are always a god send cause I know kids and sox are soon parted and we do the 'sok hunt'. I think that is the thing they are most hard on! That and unders.
The only thing missing in our kitchen is pots and pans and a big kitchenaid stand mixer and a dish drainer. (emphasis Spirit Dancer)
I don't know for sure who sent the fancy round light bulbs (the ones that are cheap to run) but thank you. this kind of thing will help in the long run to keep our elec. down to an afffordable level.
I think I'll take a breather to day (if its possible).

Cindy the over tired!
We are doing great things for this community! In just over a month we are almost at the 50% funding level on the Chip-In widget. They now have air conditioning - whoo hoo! ... and a refrigerator is coming in a couple of weeks! Our group is gathering school supplies & clothes and making them stuff too. I love our community. We just can't lose sight of the need for food. Thanks for your consideration.
Note one of their new window a/c units in the background!
