Welcome to Harry Lyon's little shop of bigotry, folks.
While it's fun to mock the dim bulbs that comprise Alabama GOP leadership, we'd be remiss if we didn't draw your attention to the recent Facebook antics of Harry Lyon, the Alabama Democratic Party's candidate for Supreme Court Chief Justice. Holy cow. He sounds like the love child of Scott Beason & Fred Phelps.
Here's a sample of Lyon's pitiful attempts to use theology as an excuse for his own bigotry.
"I DO NOT WANT THE SUPPORT OF THE GAY AND SAME SEX MARRIAGE VOTERS AS THEY ARE AN ABOMINATION OF GOD. AMEN."
Helpful hint, Harry: the KKK uses a similar tactic, so maybe that's not the best campaign strategy. Neither is encouraging voters to support someone else.

Harry Lyon... a candidate so terrible that Roy Moore (aka the "Ten Commandments judge who has called for the execution of gays & lesbians) looks slightly better in comparison.
While Democratic House Minority Leader Craig Ford's recent remarks on the issue were annoying, Lyon's chatter is actual hate speech. It's really entertaining that Lyon mocks ADP Chair Mark Kennedy with a "Wallace" reference when Lyon would surely be voted the "guy most likely to block the schoolhouse door" to keep the gay kids out.
Is it time to replace our Chief Justice candidate yet?
Now, while I appreciate a good alliteration as much as anybody, "demonic Democrats" are not words I've ever been tempted to toss together in a sentence.
Reading this, I can't help but ponder the old adage that the most virulent homophobes are often the ones deepest in the closet. They try to compensate by being the biggest trash-talking gay basher around.
Makes you think, doesn't it?
