Okay, the Ryan budget and associated aspects of Romney’s Veep choice contains some good attack opportunities for the Obama campaign. But now can we please, PLEASE start trying to re-focus the national discussion on Romney’s Secret Tax Returns?
Don’t get me wrong: there are some excellent diaries here, such as:
1. The one about how FL papers are reacting to the Ryan choice;
2. How anti-choice Ryan is, and how it’s going to hurt the GOP;
3. And njhoo's diary about how Ryan sold certain financial stocks in 2008 right after attending private meetings with Paulsen, Benanke, at.al. about the pending collapse.
But that’s all about the VP. And he’s NOT Sarah Palin. And even if he were, you can damage an opposing campaign much more by going after the top of the ticket than the running mate. We had Romney on the ropes with Romney’s Secret Tax Returns – please let’s not wait too long to get back to those, or the media’s and the public’s collective Attention Deficit Disorder will forget and turn to some other shiny thing.
The Olympics are over. The VP choice has been made. The GOP Convention is nearing. NOW is the time to start pivoting back to Romney’s Secret Tax Returns.
Oh, and by the way? Let’s use that adjective every time. If there’s a secret, everyone wants to know what it is!
