As I sit here in my home, I wonder a few things.
Firstly I must mention, for those that haven't met me on Kos before, I am a conservative. I'm a conservative, not in the sense of a blue dog or what-have-you, but a conservative that does, and will continue to, vote Republican.
I am no big fan of Mitt Romney. There is a great deal I like about Paul Ryan. As a matter of fact, having Paul Ryan on the ticket sealed the deal for me. I WILL be voting for the Romney/Paul ticket. But there is something that really blows my mind right now. Something that I would like to hear the perspective of from my liberal friends (that being you, I hope!).
What is it about Romney's tax returns that infatuates you? I am NOT being condescending. I am actually stumped as to why that is a hot topic around the liberal circles. The most I can think is this: get ahold of Romney's taxes and point out deductions he has taken, which thereby makes his rates lower than the average American.
If this is the case you wish to pursue, then I have to ask this also: Is it really important to point out that someone who has paid MONUMENTALLY more taxes than most of us (I'm a janitor) MAY have paid a lower PERCENTAGE rate? I'm sorry if I sound like a dumbass... er... janitor, but I don't get the reason why Romney is a target for his returns. Being a conservative, I can understand the attacks on his record, but... really, his taxes???
It's just a bit baffling to me.
