There better be a BruinKid diary in the works about tonight's episode of Bill Maher, because:
On his show tonight, Bill Maher squared off with Dinesh D’Souza, the face of a new anti-Obama documentary.
Mr. D'Souza will not be making another appearance on that show.
You can view the entire segment here, though I can't figure out how to embed the video. But the best part for me was when Maher...
...confronted D’Souza over the controversial comments that got him fired from ABC ten years ago, which were set off by comments D’Souza made on Politically Incorrect.
You know back when Maher was fired from his successful ABC show "Politically Incorrect", for
allegedly saying really offensive things in the aftermath of 9/11? I'll bet a lot of you didn't know that he was agreeing with something that Dinesh D’Souza had just said, namely that no one who flies a plane into a building can be described as a "coward". An evil asshole, certainly, but not a coward. D'Souza had just said the very same thing, and Maher was just agreeing with him.
And on tonight's show, Maher reminded D’Souza that he hadn't said a fucking word in his (Maher's) defense when he was fired:
"You slipped away like a RAT".
That part starts at about the 7 minute mark. Watch it. And the rest of it.
The entire thing is just a complete deconstruction of rightwing bullshit. It's beautiful.
