WA 6th District US Congressman Norm Dicks is retiring. His seat has been Dem for 36 years. There is a very real possibility that the Republicans could gain that seat by default if action is not taken now by WA Democrats.
Washington State has changed its primary elections to a Top Two primary. This means the top two vote getters in the primary, regardless of party, will be the ones to proceed to the general election in November. This change was put into place by a Republican WA. Secretary of State.
The Repubs have fielded FIVE candidates, all well funded, for Norm Dicks' old seat. There is ONE Dem in the race. As of last Friday, only 16% of Kitsap County Dems had mailed in their ballots. It is a very real possibility that Dem. Derek Kilmer will not be on the November ballot.
If you know anyone in Washington State, especially in Kitsap County, the Olympic Peninsula, and both sides of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge area, call them and remind them to mail in their ballot. TODAY.
The danger is that Dems in this district are still thinking along the lines of the old system, and that even if they don't mail in this ballot they will vote for a Dem in November.
The news media has not been helpful in pointing out that it is quite possible to have two Repubs running against each other, with no Dem on the ballot in November.

Please feel free to repost and pass the word.
Thanks.
PS: Don't forget that the last governor's race in WA as decided by 200 votes... The republicans smell blood and they are out for the kill....
