Yesterday, I along with several other bloggers noted the desperation and cluelessness with which the right, especially John Hinderaker and LA Times' Andrew McCarthy, has greeted the post-convention bounce for Barack Obama. You'd think all this mockery would have chastened Mr. Hinderaker. But no, he continues his intellectual bumbling today with a post discussing the 'stupidity' of the current president and his VP.
Let me just remind you all of this infamous quote - probably the most mocked quote in the history of political blogging - from Hinderaker about George W. Bush.
"It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can't get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile."
Yes, he wrote that. And now he's debating with himself the intellectual merits of Obama and Biden. As they say, 'the ironing is delicious'.
