Watching Chris Hayes this morning hosted by Sam Seder and they had a panel discussing the direct correlation between poverty and lack of educational advancement. The discussion was very intricate with various different talking points, but it occured to me that we in the United States of America have had a plan called Box Tops for Education. If you have ever purchased a box of cereal, I am sure you've seen them.
Does anyone else in this Fucking country find it appalling that we have to do this kind of fundraising for schools? We spend 20 percent of the Federal Budget on defense and a measly 2 percent on the Education Department. How 'bout we switch the two budgets and have a Box Tops for Bullets fundraising program instead? P.S. "The Military" does not equal the "Troops". Big difference between Defense Contractors and Boots on the Ground.
