Rather than hard work, use facts and a Plan apparently Willard and his campaign managers are still looking for that magic bullet to turn around their disastrous campaign.
That turn-around didn't come from the VP announcement, it didn't come from the convention, it hasn't come from the campaign rallies and it certainly isn't coming from their message. Now their Hail Mary is the debates.
Zingers - how high school. They forget that the President has been playing hardball on the international political stage with the likes of Bibi and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and some childish zingers from Willard the bully will neither rattle the President or elevate Willard.
Mr. Romney’s team has concluded that debates are about creating moments and has equipped him with a series of zingers that he has memorized and has been practicing on aides since August. His strategy includes luring the president into appearing smug or evasive about his responsibility for the economy.

Daniel Larison of The American Conservative’s observes on Twitter today:
“if people don't like a candidate to start with, they aren't going to be impressed when he uses one-liners and put-downs.” He goes on to wonder whether Team Romney realizes that candidates with high negatives (and Romney’s are so very high) shouldn’t be relying on zingers. People already find Romney unlikable, in other words; coming across as more of a smarmy smart-ass isn’t going to help him.
Who wants to put their country, their livelihood, their future and the future of our children in the hands of a team that has nothing better to offer than 'zingers'? If I were Willard I would think long and hard on this approach to the debates. President Obama is the king of the comeback response and he just might turn Willard's zingers on him and the result could be as disastrous at the infamous fundraiser dinner tapes.
Best line of all the Sunday talk shows:
"We're going to win this race," Ryan says.
Wallace says, "But you're not winning!"
