After the end of the DNC tonight, election season truly starts. The Obama campaign undetstands this and has kept its power relatively dry up to this point. From here on out Romney can keep hiding from the media. The media won't tolerate it and it will invite comparisons to Sarah Palin.
Everyday will be a long day, with many questions to answer and many speaches to give. How will Romney fill this time? He can't talk about his time at Bain. He can't talk about his time as Governor. Calling Obama a socialist is only one sentence long. President Clinton destroyed Romney's economic critiques of the Obama administration.
This leaves him with only one option, to talk about his plan to govern. My thoughts on how that's going to work out below the squiggle.
Beyond wanted to cut taxes on billionaires even more than "W", he doesn't have a plan to govern. He's got some cliches on hand. Consider "repeal and replace". He can hit this, but some reporter will ask him "if you repeal the ACA, how will you guarantee access to healthcare for all Americans?" He'll slip up like other repubs and admit the truth. They don't care if all Americans have healthcare, they only care about pumping up the profits of the insurance industry.
Here is my appeal to the media who are guaranteed to quickly grow tired of Mitt Romney. Think of each interview as being akin to the scene in "A Few Good Men" when Tom Cruise has Jack Nicholson on the stand. Nicholon's character is trying to stay with the party line, but Cruise's character knows he really wants to say what is on his mind.
Mitt has a temper and his buttons can be pushed. Some reporter out there can coax out the "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!" moment form Mitt. There are some really abhorent thoughts in his head. Let's give him a chance to share.
