Okay, my friends. I am going to lay out my spaghetti sauce recipe. It is entirely original. It is, in my opinion, quite tasty.
So, check it out :
below the squiggle !
So, first we get about 2 pounds of lean ground beef. We get 2 bell peppers. We get a big onion. We will need 6 serrano peppers and 4 jalapeno peppers. We will need 3 12 oz cans of stewed tomatos, 2 12 oz cans of tomato sauce, 2 6 ounce cans of tomato paste. We will need brown sugar, honey, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic, basil, thyme, other italian seasonings.
We dice the bell peppers and the onion, we slice the serrano peppers and jalapeno peppers. We cook the lean ground beef with the above items and cover it for about 10 to 15 minutes until the meat is browned and cooked. We drain the extra grease out of it using paper towels or pouring it out.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we are working on our sauce. We open all of our cans of stewed tomatos, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. We mix that together until it is the right consistency. We cook it in a big 2 quart pot. We put in a cup or so of brown sugar and honey. We put in salt and pepper according to taste. We pour in lots of italian seasonings like oregano, garlic, basil, and thyme. We put the spices in according to taste.
Cook it until it is almost at a boil. Cover it and stir it through out.
After we cook the sauce, we put the browned ground beef with the peppers and onions into the sauce. The pot is now quite full.
We will now cook several packages of vermicelli (very, very thin spaghetti).
We first boil enough water to hold the amount of pasta we are cooking. After the water is boiling, we break the vermicelli in half and cook it. Normally, we need to cook the vermicelli for about 8 minutes. Then we drain/strain the pasta.
It is now ready to be served, preferably with garlic toast or french bread.
This is not as spicy as some might fear. The reason is that there is a lot of meat and sauce to absorb and contain it. The brown sugar and honey also neutralizes it.
Of course, one can reduce the amount of peppers if needed.
This will be enough for 8 or more servings.
Enjoy !
