We are back at our old antique camp house in the Texas Hill Country. We had a great day , rode our bikes for exercise and enjoyed the scenery of this historic old county seat town. Had to lol at the new survivalist store advertising a sale on 'ammo' .
But otherwise a nice day after some welcome rain, with the sun poking in and out.
Hard to think about the facts our troops are still in Afghanistan, still spending Brazillians there, and still killing folks in who knows where with drones, including children.
Sorry to be bummer on Friday night, but waiting on my wife to warm up our leftover home made palak paneer and decided to scan down through our Facebook news feed and saw this
War Costs Facebook Page
"Remember, Pakistan is a country that we're not at war at, we're sending drones in, and we are assassinating people who have no say in the matter, no jury, no lawyers, no protection." -Robert Greenwald
Robert Greenwald and Ed Schultz discuss U.S. Drone Policy on The Ed Show
Ed asks Robert whether he thinks this will come up in the Senate confirmation hearings on Brennan, whether civilians are being killed, etc.
Sorry, no transcript, but this youtube comment should give you a hint

The Americans are bombing, randomly and without any regard or concern residences of people who live in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan, where most of the Taliban come from. This area, inhabited by Pashtuns and who live in what is considered Pashtunistan. Robert Greenwalk is perfectly right, we westerners are hated in Pakistan, Afghanistan and many other countries. They hate us because we are killing their women, children, destroyed their houses, their cattle, their livelihoods!!
Senators Should Debate The Drone Program
I recently put up a post about the kill list withstanding the ACLU court challenge.

Obama's 'Kill List' Policy Stays Secret-- For Now
by divineorder
You may recall that the President has said that the Presidency needs to be reined in re drones
Raw Story
Obama to Jon Stewart: Congress needs to rein in the presidency
Would love to see this debated in the Senate...
I wish there was more that progressives could do to reign in this huge fail which is, no doubt, creating more and more enemies.
As least I can keep supporting the work of War Costs to shed more light on this.

THE 178 REPORT
Youth Disrupted: Effects of U.S. Drone Strikes on Children in Targeted Areas
Since the George W. Bush administration’s first use of targeted assassinations via drone strikes, aimed at Al Qaeda and associated forces, in 2002, The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) reports at least 178 innocent children (up to age 17) have died directly as a result of U.S. drone policy.[1]...

The 178 Petition
Speaker Boehner and Minority Leader Pelosi,
H. Res. 819 calls for the release of legal justification of drone strikes that have killed civilians in targeted areas, as numerous reports have detailed.
Please bring Rep. Dennis Kucinich's bill to the House floor for debate this month, as too much of U.S. government's drone policy is kept secret from Congress and the American people.
