DK Quilt Guild: A place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too!
This Christmas, I made Pillows using the Pinwheel Quilt Block for gifts. Everyone was surprised and pleased with them. I made each pillow geared for the recipient's personality. I found that little quilting projects work best for me. I am not yet confident in creating a big quilt. It also helped improve my pinwheel block skills.

My house looked like a pillow factory but it was so fun. I really enjoy the planning, and deciding what kind of fabric for each recipient's pillow. I tend to enjoy novelty fabric, and my challenge was to find coordinating fabric that wouldn't clash.
Did you sew or make homemade gifts for the Holiday Season? Please share with us any projects you've made or are working on.
PROJECT UPDATE!! ~ From Melanie in IA
I have ENOUGH blocks for both projects! If you were planning to send one still, perhaps save it for another project. For a singe large block, you can make a pillow cover, a table topper, a placemat, a wallhanging... Lots of things you can make starting with one block.
I hope to have the Okiciyap top done by early February to send on the BeadLady for quilting.
