Merkley's stated target is to raise $10,000 by January 31st.
Let's help him hit $51,000 -- as a symbol of the effective 51 vote majority rule that he and we sought, and continue to seek, for the Senate.
Each contribution that ends in "$.51" would help send the right message, which would ideally be heard loud and clear by (and copied by email to) Feinstein, Boxer, and other Senators who were not sufficiently supportive of strong filibuster reform.
Brown's fundraising email of today on behalf of Merkley says "Jeff and I serve together on the Senate Banking Committee. I've seen his work first-hand." This helps confirm the impression, from recent filibuster wars, that Merkley merits heavy support from Progressives.
He is going to need it, in view of the reports that Reid and others are angry at him for breaking their unwritten rule against publicizing the attitudes of named Senators.
