While browsing Huff Post earlier today, I stumbled upon an article about a conservative "alternative" to Facebook. I'm not joking. The Tea Party set has their answer to the site created by a guy who supposedly agreed to help New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with something.
Tea Party Community, Conservative Facebook Alternative, Set To Launch
According to the article, conservatives fall victim to liberal "bullying" in which Facebook is said to remove anything right-wing. And that's where The Tea Party Community steps in, to provide the Fox News crowd a “safe haven for the conservative movement where we can share ideas and thoughts and express ourselves without fear of retribution”, the story says.
Does anyone see the ridiculousness in that? The Tea Party -- which has no love for blacks, Latinos, gays, lesbians, the poor, etc. -- is accusing the left of cyberbullying. The last time I checked, putting down a rumor the president is out to confiscate every gun in the country and exposing the BS in the notion gay marriage threatens democracy isn't exactly bullying. Light years from it, actually.
This site, likely a non-issue for Mark Zuckerberg, further illustrates the annoying, childish "I lost so I'm taking my ball and going home" mentality of the right. To start a White House petition advocating secession from the Union is one thing. To clamor for the POTUS to reveal his real birth certificate is another. But to leave Facebook because a number of your "friends" support equality for all? Come on now! I'm dying here! Haha!
Some left-leaning individuals have signed up and made fake profiles. It's only a matter of time a few wingnuts get catfished.
