Hello puzzlers!
Nova is on a bicycle and unavailable today, which is sad for all of us because this is Potluck Sunday and we all know how much he loves being a group solver. (sad face)
Potluck Sunday is where everyone brings a puzzle. I have a Julie Crostic. There is lots of room on our table for your contribution! Just post it in the comments and I'll be happy to copy it into the main puzzle.
Nova would never leave us high and dry on a Potluck Sunday. He left us some Crypto Gremlins for our potluck table.
A whole month has gone by and we are still cracking our way through science's Bad Translations puzzles from last month. I think I have figured out a couple more. We'll see.
Well, one Julie (gee, we miss you so much, Julie) Crostic, over the cheeto, plus Nova's Cryptos and an update on the Bad Translations. If you have something for our potluck table, post in the comments and I'll move it to the main diary.
Whoever guesses what this puzzle represents gets bonus points. Hint - I designed it with Nova in mind, but he isn't here so you all are on your own.
So, the first challenge is to solve the puzzle. The second is to tell me what the puzzle represents.

Crypto-Gremlin Challenge: Each of the following is a quotation. I've left off the sources, though. When you've solved one, don't post the translation. Instead, find out who said it and post a clue to that person's identity. That will indicate you know the solution without revealing the solution to others who haven't solved the puzzle yet.
NOTE: if you don't know what Crypto-Gremlins are and how they differ from regular cryptograms, you can find a full explanation
here. (You might also like to look up the
Sunday Puzzle Warm-Up from 2013-01-19 which has
a walk-through demonstration for solving a Crypto-Gremlin)
