Hello, sunshine.
Well, glad we have such a seasoned national security expert
to weigh in on things:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney discussed tensions on the Korean peninsula with Republican leaders in Congress in a closed-door meeting Tuesday, warning them that the United States was in danger.
“We’re in deep doo doo,” Cheney told lawmakers, according to CNN, which first reported the talk.
You may recall that North Korea obtained nuclear capabilities under the Bush/Cheney administration, because North Korea was not Iraq and because the "Rumsfeld doctrine" and the "Cheney doctrine" and the "Bush doctrine," whatever all of those were, therefore did not give a particular damn about it. (On the other hand, Saddam Hussein's lawnmower-engine-powered model plane capabilities were not to be trifled with, and the appearance of an Iraqi truck outfitted with semi-advanced helium-balloon-filling technology caused several administration officials to publicly soil themselves.) You may recall that, but this is only because you are probably a smartass.
There is no word on what Cheney advised current Republican lawmakers to do, which is probably for the best.
