We don't have much detail beyond this, but according to CNN's John King two sources have told him that officials believe they have identified one suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing from video surveillance footage from the Lord & Taylor department store.
King also said Boston mayor Tom Menino told him that there had been significant progress in the investigation, though King said Menino was not one of his sources.
As always, it's worth remembering that there has been shortage of disappointing false leads in cases like this, but let's hope King's report proves to be accurate.
According to CNN, the FBI will have a news briefing at 5:00 PM.10:20 AM PT:
CNN: John King says reputable law enforcement told him suspect was "dark skinned male." Adds "some people will take offense at that."

10:23 AM PT: King said the video showed "they now have what they believe to be a clear video image of the suspect approaching a site, placing a package, and leaving the site, and placing a package that matches the description of what they had been looking for. [...] They believe they have a clear identification, including a facial image of a suspect. The question I have been unable to answer from my sources is whether they are searching for that suspect, whether they have a name attached to that suspect, or whether that suspect might be in custody."
10:28 AM PT:
Spokeswoman for Boston Mayor Thomas Menino says investigators 'making progress' using video from Lord& Taylor.

10:31 AM PT: The Boston Globe is also reporting the news that an image of the suspect had been captured.
10:37 AM PT: NBC's Pete Williams says it's "not correct" to say there is a suspect. Fox says there's any image of a man carrying and "maybe" dropping a bag.
10:39 AM PT: And another report, this one from Boston's local ABC affiliate:
#BREAKING: According to @WuWCVB, an arrest in #BostonMarathon bombing is imminent or has already taken place.
— @WCVB via web
10:47 AM PT: King now says an arrest has been made, citing CNN's Fran Townsend and a Boston law enforcement source.
10:56 AM PT: Unlike CNN, AP says the arrest is "imminent."
10:59 AM PT: Pete Williams of NBC says he doesn't think an arrest has been made. He also says there is conflicting information about whether or not the suspect has even been identified. So lots of conflicting information here.
11:00 AM PT: Williams, on air: Says the FBI "has a face" but "don't know who he is" and they are looking for him. "No one has been identified," Williams says. "To say an arrest has been made seems to me to be wrong," he says.
11:04 AM PT: Fox confirms an arrest.
11:06 AM PT: Meanwhile:
11:07 AM PT: And AP says there has been an arrest:
BREAKING: Law enforcement official: Boston Marathon bomb suspect in custody, expected in federal court. -BW
— @AP via SocialFlow
11:11 AM PT: Pete Williams now saying he's getting conflicting information about whether the suspect has been identified. In other words:
11:22 AM PT: CNN now walking back from the arrest story.
11:35 AM PT: And now CNN's Fran Townsend and Joe Johns say no arrest has been made. Great job, CNN.
11:36 AM PT: Fox walking back arrest claim as well.
11:40 AM PT:
