I hope that in five years time we will look back on today not as just another day on which the NRA, or some other avaricious, well-financed lobby got the best of an issue by intimidating legislators into doing their will. I hope it will be remembered as the day the American people started to wake up to the fact that that their country is not governed in good faith.
Who do these people think they were elected to represent?
Today is an opportunity to open people's eyes to the presence of the man behind every curtain, and expose him for the self-serving buffoon that he is. Today's votes were sufficiently egregious to be looked on with incredulity by many who have never questioned the integrity of their government. Those who perceive this need to be encouraged to start paying attention to everything else that is being done ostensibly on their behalf, but in reality contrary to their interest.
