Once again, here is another story of a corporation shipping jobs for lower wages, but this time, it is happening within the United States. In Erie, Pa., General Electric has a plant that works on train engines and other mining equipment, and the plant roughly employs 3,500 workers. The company has decided to participate in the race to the bottom and ship close to 1,000 jobs to the right to no work state of Texas.
On the Raging Chicken Press, I had the opportunity to interview Mentamark, an employee from the GE plan. To combat this move, workers held a rally with 2,000 employees staging a walkout rally, which had support by other local labor unions and members of the community.
