As you all know, Mother's Day is coming up; it will be here May 12th. Yay moms! And yay flowers! But since it's "Boo Komen!," one must be careful in choosing their Mother's Day bouquets. To wit, one must not purchase them from ProFlowers, because they are still blithely promoting their "Pink Ribbon Collection" merchandise, the proceeds of which are partially donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
I, for one, have not forgotten SGKF's shenanigans regarding Planned Parenthood, and I, for one, will never forgive them for it. And that's not even getting into their deeper hypocrisies and other questionable undertakings.
So please take the opportunity this Mother's Day to let ProFlowers and any other Komen-supporting vendors that you will not be purchasing from them and let them know precisely why. Support your local greenhouse by buying Mom a beautiful plant that will be around forever instead of flowers that die in a week. Or have all of your siblings chip in the cost of a bouquet to get her something really nice. Etc. Just don't give your money to Komen-supporting merchants, whatever you do; this includes the various restaurant holdings of Brinker International.
Most of all, please help spread the word! Let's have diaries about this all through the month of May!
