Parkside, Penn. -- A 43-year-old man was accidentally shot and killed by his 42-year-old wife about 4 p.m. Saturday while he was teaching her how to use a gun in case someone tried to break their home while he was away. The couple’s two sons, ages 5 and 2, were at home at the time of the shooting.
Bladensburg, Md. -- An off-duty police officer in his 30s is dead after he intentionally shot himself while driving his marked patrol vehicle and it crossed a highway median strip and crashed into another car about 9 a.m. Saturday. Police have called the incident a suicide. The driver of the struck car had only minor injuries.
Baltimore, Md. -- A man was found fatally shot about 3 a.m. yesterday. He was struck multiple times. Police suspect the shooting might have been triggered by road rage.
Franklin Township, Ohio -- A 39-year-old man has been arrested after getting into an argument at a bar and leaving the establishment only to return with a handgun and fatally shoot a 42-year-old man and wound a 46-year-old woman around 1 a.m. Saturday. The woman was reported in stable condition.
Denver, Colo. -- A 37-year-old man walking to a store Wednesday night was shot multiple times and killed after two people -- a 42-year-old man and his 19-year-old son -- approached him from behind and the 19-year-old opened fire. Earlier in the evening, the father and the victim were involved in a fistfight while at a gathering of people inside a home. The father and son were arrested.
New Orleans, La. -- A homeowner fatally shot an unknown and bloody man who entered his home and began fighting with the occupants about 2:15 p.m. Sunday. Earlier in the afternoon, residents in the area had called police to report a bloody man acting irate on a street. Two police bicycle officers found the man, but as they questioned him, he pushed one of the officers and ran away. While looking for him, they heard the homeowner’s gunshot.
Cincinnati, Ohio -- During class earlier today, an honors student at an all-male high school shot himself with a handgun in an attempt to commit suicide. No word on his condition.
Houston, Tex. -- A 15-year-old boy accidentally shot his 14-year-old step-brother in the head while playing with a handgun at their home around noon yesterday. The boys found the gun a few months ago and it was kept hidden from their parents. The victim was listed in critical condition.
Hanover, Va. -- One person was shot in the hand and another in the arm when a gun accidentally went off inside a car just before midnight last Tuesday. No report on the conditions of the victims.
Chester, Penn. -- When an unleashed English bulldog reportedly threatened a 64-year-old man and his wife as they walked their two dogs about 7:30 p.m. yesterday, the man pulled out a gun and shot the dog, however the bullet passed through the animal’s neck and struck the dog’s owner, a woman, in the hand. The man was licensed to carry the weapon. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The bulldog survived and its owner’s injuries were non life-threatening.
Millcreek, Penn. -- A 23-year-old woman was accidentally shot in the stomach outside a dance hall at a charity ball about midnight Saturday. No word on her condition.
Boston, Mass. -- A man was found suffering from gunshot wounds about 5:15 p.m. yesterday. His injuries were considered life-threatening.

Milwaukee, Wis. -- A 24-year-old man was shot in the head about 11:30 a.m. yesterday. A 21-year-old man, an acquaintance of the victim, has been arrested. The victim was listed in stable condition.
Pittsburgh, Penn. -- A man was shot while on a street about 6:30 p.m. yesterday. He was listed in critical condition
Jersey City, N.J. -- A 22-year-old man heard gunshots as he was talking with friends while standing on a sidewalk outside a housing complex about 2:45 a.m. yesterday. He immediately ran but was struck in the knee and suffered a fractured thigh-bone. No word on his condition.
St. Petersburg, Fla. -- Four children were shot -- two 15-year-old boys, a 13-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old boy -- when gunfire erupted at a birthday party attended by about 150 people around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say the incident began when someone in a car not associated with the party fired shots into the air which prompted someone at the party to shoot at the car. One of the 15-year-old boys was listed in critical but stable condition. The other children had injuries considered non life-threatening.
New Orleans, La. -- As a 22-year-old motorist waited at a stoplight Tuesday evening, someone on a bicycle approached and shot him in the arm. No word on the victim’s condition.
Washington, D.C. -- A man was shot multiple times while on a street about 11 p.m. yesterday. Two suspects fled in a car. No word on the victim’s condition.
Severn, Md. -- An 18-year-old man was shot and wounded after a fight at a house party erupted into gunfire about 12:30 a.m. yesterday. No word on his condition.
Hurst, Tex. -- A male and a female were shot about 9 p.m. yesterday. A 32-year-old suspect has been arrested. Both victims were listed in serious condition.

Vicksburg, Miss.-- A 10-year-old boy has died after he was accidentally shot in the head at his home about 9 p.m. Monday. Three people were in the home at the time of the shooting. No charges have been filed.
Chester, Penn. -- A 17-year-old boy died from a gunshot wound to the head after a drive-by shooting about 5:30 p.m. yesterday. The gunfire also left an 18-year-old wounded in serious condition, a 16-year-old wounded in stable condition, and a 40-year-old man in stable condition after one of the stray bullets struck him as he walked to a store.
New Orleans, La. -- A 26-year-old man repairing his gun accidentally shot himself to death about 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
Tampa, Fla. -- A 38-year-old man shot and killed his 37-year-old estranged wife before using the gun to kill himself. A relative found their bodies just before 7 p.m. Friday.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 36-year-old man was shot and killed about 6 a.m. today.
Bethel Park, Penn. -- A 31-year-old man was shot and killed by a music-store owner after the man walked into the store and tried to attack him and his wife with a wooden night-stick about 12:15 p.m. yesterday.

Elk Grove, Calif. -- An 18-year-old man was shot at a park about 4:45 p.m. Friday. His injuries were reported as non life-threatening.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 19-year-old woman was shot twice in the leg about 1 p.m. yesterday. She was listed in serious-to-critical condition.

Charleston, W.V. -- A man was shot about four times in the torso around 7:30 p.m. yesterday. The victim was reported as conscious and alert.
Sanford, Fla. -- A 25-year-old man was found unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound in a wooded area on Friday. Police said the man’s apartment showed signs of a struggle and his car was missing car. His injuries were reported as life-threatening.
Charlotte, N.C. -- A 40-year-old man was shot in the abdomen by a woman around 2 p.m. yesterday. The woman was arrested. The victim was listed in serious condition.

Manchester, Ill. -- Five people were fatally shot at a housing complex about 4:30 a.m. today -- a 65-year-old grandmother, her 22-year-old granddaughter, the granddaughter’s boyfriend, a 5-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old boy. A 6-year-old girl was shot and wounded. She was listed in critical condition. The suspect, a 43-year-old man, fled the scene but was later shot and killed by police. He had been going through a custody battle with his estranged wife over their 4-year-old daughter. His estranged wife was the daughter of the grandmother.
Dade City, Fla. -- A 49-year-old woman killed herself with a gun about 10:20 a.m. yesterday after barricading herself inside her home when police arrived with a warrant for her arrest.
Waukesha, Wis. -- Police are looking for a 26-year-old man after a 24-year-old woman was fatally shot Monday evening during a domestic dispute between the two. The woman was shot once in the head. She is survived by a 3-year-old daughter.
New Orleans, La. -- Two men, one of them 26-year-old, were shot multiple times and killed while on a porch after two men approached and opened fire about 5:50 p.m. yesterday. Neighbors heard 12 to 15 shots. Three houses away, an 8-year-old boy playing on a sidewalk was struck in the stomach and arm by stray bullets from the shooting. The child was listed in critical but stable condition.
Rex, Ga. --Three men were shot, one fatally, as they walked along a wooded shortcut path between a mobile-home park and a gas-station convenience store Monday night. The wounded men were expected to survive. Police believe the shooting motive might have been robbery.

Wilmington, Del. -- A 7-year-old boy was shot in the hand around 10 p.m. Monday after his 11-year-old brother found a gun and accidentally discharged the weapon. The victim was listed in stable condition.
Miami, Fla. -- A woman riding in a vehicle with several others on the way to a gun range was accidentally shot in the jaw when a weapon discharged. No charges were filed.
Cartersville, Ga. -- A nurse at a medical center was cleaning his .38 caliber Derringer before going outside to shoot the gun when it accidentally discharged striking him in the hand about 9 p.m. Sunday. No charges were filed.
Salina, Kan. -- While carrying an armload of guns about 5 p.m. Monday, a 38-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the leg when he dropped a Colt .45 revolver and it discharged upon hitting the ground. The bullet went through his lower leg and then continued on through a window-screen of a home. The round was later discovered lying on the floor in the home.
Leesburg, Va. -- A 33-year-old man accidentally shot and wounded himself while storing a gun around noon on Saturday. The injury was considered non life-threatening.
Champaign, Ill. -- A man was shot and wounded in a motel room about 12:45 a.m. today after meeting with two people who proceeded to pull out guns. He was struck as he tried to run away. No word on his condition.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A man was shot at a market yesterday evening. The victim was listed in critical condition.

Sadly, as we learned a week ago today, too many of our elected representatives share a bed with the N.R.A. And, apparently, they all find the bed very comfortable. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans pay for that comfort in blood and suffering; day after day after day.
Senators who voted AGAINST common sense gun control need to be told that their vote was shameful.

Federal Way, Wash. -- Five people are dead after shooting that began as a domestic dispute. A 28-year-old man fatally shot his girlfriend in their apartment about 9:30 p.m. yesterday before going into the parking lot where he confronted and fatally shot two men. He then used a shotgun to blast open a door and fatally shoot a 61-year-old man who was yelling for someone to call 911. The suspect was shot and killed when police arrived. The man reportedly had a history of domestic violence but had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Brentwood, Tenn. -- Police have arrested the husband of a woman found fatally shot in her home yesterday evening.
Lorain, Ohio -- Three people -- a woman, her 33-year-old boyfriend, and her estranged husband -- were found fatally shot in a bedroom about 4 p.m. yesterday in what police believe was a double-murder and suicide. The woman had two children ages 7 and 1. Police did not say if the children were at home at the time of the shootings.
Montgomery, Ala. -- A 19-year-old man was found fatally shot about 8:30 p.m. last Friday. Police believe he was shot during a robbery attempt.

Terrytown, La. -- A man was found lying on the ground fatally shot about 10 p.m. yesterday. He had been talking with a man while in the back courtyard of a building when multiple shots were fired from nearby. The victim was struck several times.
North Highlands, Calif. -- A 10-year-old boy was shot five times while outside a home at a family birthday party about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Most of the children at the gathering were in the backyard at the time, but the victim and another child happened to be in the front yard of the home when a car pulled up and at least six shots were fired at them. Philadelphia, Penn --A 15-year-old boy was shot in the chest about 3:30 p.m. yesterday. He was listed in extremely critical condition.
Harvey, La. -- Police responding to reports of gunfire at an apartment about 4:30 a.m. today found five people shot -- three children under the age of three and two adults. The gunmen knocked on the door claiming to be police and when an adult opened it the gunmen opened fire. It is believed the children were sleeping in the living room. All the victims were reported to have non life-threatening injuries.
Grayson County, Tex. -- Students taking a concealed handgun license class at a rodeo grounds accidentally shot a man who was fishing in a nearby pond. The victim is expected “to be okay.”
Wilmington, N.C. -- A man accidentally shot another man about 5:00 a.m. yesterday. The victim was reported as recovering.
Lake Hill, N.Y. -- A man accidentally shot himself in the hand with a shotgun around 1 p.m. Sunday. He was listed in stable condition.
Hodgenville, Ky. -- A 55-year-old man who threaten to kill himself in front of family members was shot in the shoulder when one of the relatives tried to wrestle a gun away from him. The man was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
Baltimore, Md. -- A man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound to an arm about 9:50 p.m. Friday. His condition was reported as non life-threatening.
Bridgeport, Conn. -- A man and a woman, both 22-years-old, were shot and wounded about 8 p.m. yesterday. They were passengers in a parked car that was fired upon from another car that pulled up to theirs. The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm; the woman was shot in the hip. Both were listed in stable, but serious condition.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A 24-year-old man was shot and wounded about 5:15 p.m. yesterday.

Sadly, as we learned last Wednesday, too many of our elected representatives share a bed with the N.R.A. And, apparently, they all find the bed very comfortable. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans pay for that comfort in blood and suffering; day after day after day.
Senators who voted AGAINST common sense gun control need to be told that their vote was shameful.
Senators who voted FOR common sense gun control need to be thanked.

Donald, Ore. -- A 4-year-old boy died from a gunshot wound yesterday. Police were dispatched to the scene about 5:30 p.m.
Cleveland, Ohio -- A 17-year-old boy died yesterday after he was shot in the chest and back outside his home about 6 p.m. Friday. The victim was at home with friends and went outside for an unknown reason. Moments later, they heard gunfire and found the victim shot.
Kingston, N.C. -- A 28-year-old man was shot to death by his 34-year-old brother after the two got into an argument yesterday morning. The two were driving down a road together when a fight began. The car stopped and the fight continued, then gunfire rang out.
Winamac, Ind. -- A 60-year-old man is dead after he accidentally shot himself in the head about 10 p.m. last Wednesday.
North Huntingdon, Penn. -- A 68-year-old man fatally shot his 67-year-old wife and 46-year-old son and then used the gun to kill himself last Tuesday.
Houston, Tex. -- A 22-year-old-man filming a music video at a home was fatally shot when a fight broke out on the street in front of the home shortly after 1 a.m. today.
Humble, Tex. -- In a parking lot about 9 p.m. Friday, a woman sat in the front seat of a car while her 23-year-old boyfriend sat in the back with his infant child. They were waiting to meet someone and buy a cell phone from them. While waiting, they were approach by several men, including one armed with a shotgun. When the armed man tried to get into the locked car, the 23-year-old pulled out a handgun and opened fire, killing him.
New Orleans, La. -- A man was found fatally shot and lying in a street about 10 p.m. yesterday. He had been struck multiple times.
Milwaukee, Wis. -- A 57-year-old man was shot to death about 3:45 a.m. today in what police believe was a robbery attempt.
Greenville, S.C. -- When a 2-year-old boy reached into the pant’s pocket of his father, a handgun that was in the pocket accidentally discharged, striking the boy in the upper body. No word on his condition.
Myakka , Fla. -- A man about to go hog hunting accidentally shot himself in the stomach about 7 p.m. yesterday when his handgun fell from his holster and the weapon discharge as it hit the ground. No word on his condition.
Weirton, W.V. -- A 14-year-old boy accidental shot himself in the hand late last Thursday afternoon. No word on his condition.
Medina, Ohio -- A 62-year-old police chief accidentally shot himself in the leg when his service handgun discharged as he holstered the weapon while at home and preparing to go to work about 9:30 a.m. last Thursday. He was treated and released from a local hospital.
Corpus Christi, Tex. -- A man accidentally shot himself in the head as he was showing a gun to friends while leaving a men’s club about 2:25 a.m. today. He was listed in critical condition.
Rock Hill, S.C. -- A 36-year-old man accidentally shot himself last Monday evening while unloading a .22 caliber rifle after target practicing with friends. The bullet went through his hand and struck his thigh. No word on his condition.
Oconee County, Ga. -- While at home about 7:30 p.m. last Tuesday, a 36-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the leg as he was removing a handgun from his pants so as to place the weapon on a shelf. No word on his condition.
Columbus, Ohio -- A 39-year old woman was shot in the face as she rode a city bus last Tuesday afternoon. Police say someone fired shots at the bus and the woman was apparently an innocent victim. She was reported in critical condition.
Cleveland, Ohio -- Two people were injured after getting caught in the middle of a crossfire when the occupants of two vehicles began shooting at each other about 3 a.m. yesterday. A 27-year-old man pulling into a gas station was injured by flying glass when one of the bullets shattered a window in his car. A 23-year-old man was shot in the arm as he entered the gas-station store. No word on the conditions of the victims.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 25-year-old man standing on a corner was shot in the buttocks about 12:50 p.m. yesterday when a car pulled up and someone got out and opened fire on him. The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 29-year-old man walking on a street was approached by a gunman who shot him multiple times about 1:25 p.m. yesterday. The victim was struck in the hand, leg, and upper back. He was listed in serious condition. The shooter fled on foot.
Chicago, Ill. -- An 18-year-old male was shot in the midsection about 3:30 p.m. yesterday. His condition was listed as stabilized.

Chicago, Ill. -- A 25-year-old man was walking with two other people about 3:20 a.m. today when someone came up and shot him in the back outside a convenience store. The victim was listed in serious condition.
Conroe, Tex. -- As a 33-year-old man and his girlfriend were watching television last Sunday, the man’s 3-year-old son found a 9mm handgun in a bedroom nightstand and accidentally discharged the weapon. The child suffered a minor facial injury from the gun-recoil. The bullet lodged in the ceiling. Police charged the father with child endangerment.
Johnson County, Ind. -- As a woman fooled around with a rifle in an apartment about 9 p.m. last Friday, the weapon accidentally discharged sending a bullet through the floor and into the apartment below, where it struck a clock and a wall. She was twirling the rifle in the manner of the lead character in “The Rifleman” television series. The woman said she knew the rifle was loaded but thought the safety was on.
Oconee County, Ga. -- Around 9 p.m. on March 21, police responding to reports of shots fired learned that a 66-year-old man had discharged a shotgun into the air. The man said he fired the gun “to scare the witches away.” Two rifles and a shotgun belonging to the man were turned over to his son for safe keeping.
Hastings, Minn. -- A handgun was accidentally discharged at a gun show yesterday afternoon. No one was injured.

Lapwai, Idaho -- An 8-year-old boy died from an accidental gunshot wound to the chest about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Texarkana, Ark. -- A 23-year-old man was found shot to death inside a car about 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Orange County, Fla. -- A 34-year-old man playing cards with a group of people was fatally shot about 12:45 a.m. today.
Cleveland, Ohio -- A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot about 6:45 p.m. yesterday.
Durham, N.C. -- A 19-year-old male was found shot to death inside a car that crashed into a fence about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.
Stamford, Conn. -- A 25-year-old man was shot and killed and a 44-year-old man was shot and wounded in front of a barber shop about 10:30 p.m. yesterday. Witnesses said someone opened fire on a group of people in front of the shop and then fled in a vehicle. The wounded victim is expected to survive.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 37-year-old man was fatally shot while on a street about 7:45 p.m. last night.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 34-year-old man was fatally shot while in an alley about 12:20 a.m. today.
Houston, Tex. -- When a man got out of his vehicle after pulling into his driveway about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, he was approached by three masked gunmen who exited from a vehicle that had pulled in behind him. After he handed over his keys and other items as demanded by the gunmen, he was told to lead them into his house. A friend of the man inside the house at the time then opened fire at the suspects, killing one of them. The other two gunmen escaped in their vehicle.
Irvington, N.J. -- A 19-year-old male was shot and killed as he stepped out of a car about 10:50 p.m. Thursday. Police believe the gunfire might have come from a passing vehicle.
Miami, Fla. --A several-days-long dispute between a group of men led to one man fatally shooting another about 5 p.m. Thursday.
Miramar, Fla. -- A man was fatally shot and another man was shot and wounded about 1:45 a.m. yesterday. Police said several people including the two victims were standing in a driveway when someone came up and started shooting. The wounded victim was reported to have non life-threatening injuries.

Montgomery, Ala. -- Someone was shot Thursday evening and a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charge with attempted murder. The victim was listed in life-threatening, stable condition.
Nashville, Tenn. -- A man was in the parking lot of an apartment complex about 3:30 a.m. today when he was approached by someone who shot him in the stomach and then robbed him. The victim’s injuries were described as very serious.
