Still Convinced she'll REALLY make a difference.

Yes, it's official:
SANDY — Mia Love made it official Saturday at the GOP state convention — she’s once again challenging Utah’s only Democrat in Congress, Rep. Jim Matheson, for his 4th District seat.
"You and I have some unfinished business with Rep. Jim Matheson," Love told the more than 2,500 delegates gathered for the organizing convention, recalling her narrow loss last November.
Earlier this year, Love filed her candidacy with the Federal Elections Commission and hired top GOP strategist Dave Hansen, who ran Sen. Orrin Hatch's successful 2012 re-election campaign.
Unfinished business with Jim Matheson eh? What unfinished business?
Oh right! You lost to Congressman Matheson by less than 800 votes. That's the real unfinished business so now you want a head start by running against Matheson again early so you can perhaps increase your turnout.
"I wanted to see if the momentum was there, if we could build upon what we had before," Love said. "People are getting behind us and are more determined than ever to win this seat."
Win this seat eh? And just what are you planning to do once you win this seat? Be more of a partisan, self-centered obstructionist like your fellow Tea Party and Republican colleagues?
I don't think Jon Huntsman Sr. is this stupid. Remember, he's one of the most popular Mormons in Utah, particularly with being a very successful businessman. He also endorsed Congressman Matheson for re-election in 2012 and is by default expected to do so in 2014.
Here's more insight from the Salt Lake City Tribute on why Mia Love may have not won last time around:
But another ghost from the past is Casey Voeks, the recently elected chairman of the Utah County Republican Party, who many saw as a victim of national GOP maneuvering the last time Love became the party’s candidate.
Voeks was the original manager of Love’s campaign, leading a team of young, energetic volunteers who by all accounts did a great job in driving their candidate to the nomination and eliminating at the convention other hopefuls whose campaigns were staffed with more seasoned strategists.
But after Love secured the nomination, the National Republican Congressional Committee became actively involved, not only with its money, but taking over campaign strategy and deciding who would run things.
The Washington, D.C., folks were uncomfortable with the youth and inexperience that Love had surrounded herself with (Voeks is 24) and decided that many of those passionate youngsters had to go.
Youth and inexperience? Wait, this doesn't make sense here. If this is the case, then wouldn't this contradict House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy's Young Guns recruiting?
Here's another excuse:
One of the issues that Voeks ran on in his race for chairman was that the Utah County Republican Party did not do enough for Love. He vowed to work hard for whoever is the Republican nominee. At the moment, the nominee likely will be Love.
After many of the volunteers who steered Love through the convention were let go and the national party became more involved, the campaign for several weeks was in disarray. State Republican Party Chairman Thomas Wright and his executive director, Ivan Dubois, became directly involved, even providing space in the party’s headquarters for the Love campaign.
Ok. So the campaign in 2012 was not what it had hoped to be because the original volunteers of Mia Love's campaign were out and the national party was in?
Not sure if that really makes sense to me because I'm pretty sure Love's campaign volunteers are just as delusional as she is, just like the national GOP party is delusional and living in a bubble. Any modern day GOP person is bound to be the same. How they articulate themselves isn't going to make a damn difference one way or another. Their ideas STINK.
I personally believe that Mia Love's charisma and energy were the drivers for her campaign getting a narrow loss to Congressman Matheson, not her ideas. In fact, Love's politics and ideas are just in line with the Tea Party and really add no new dialog. Of course, Utah as a state is conservative and the Utah State Democratic Party hasn't exactly been friendly to liberal or progressive Democrats like Pete Ashdown, founder of one of the first web-hosting services, XMission.
It also appears Jim Matheson isn't taking any chances this time around. He's already getting himself prepared for another Mia Love assault in 2014:
http://www.sltrib.com/...
Rep. Jim Matheson has started stockpiling cash in preparation for a potential rematch against Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love.
Matheson, a seven-term Democrat, raised $288,000 since the first of the year and now has $241,000 available for the 2014 showdown.
He sent repeated fundraising requests centered on Love’s re-emergence as a potential Republican candidate and on the National Republican Congressional Committee calling him a top target.
Matheson told supporters he beat his fundraising goals for the three-month period, allowing him to get a head start in what is expected to be an expensive race.
"This one was critical with outside groups already targeting our race and opponents lining up," he said in an email to donors.
Yeah, with friends like the CPAC, I'm sure Mia Love will be starting to "promote freedom" for Americans all around the U.S.
We know of course Jim Matheson is a blue dog Democrat, which is of course not the kind of Democrat us Kossacks prefer but in the case of Mia Love, we cannot afford more Tea Party Republicans in Congress.
Matheson still has his old campaign website again but time for him to get it active again so we can help him re-defeat Love in 2014.
