Former Senator and Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazer (D. CO), is back to help fundraise Senator Mark Udall's (D. CO) 2014 re-election campaign:
It’s so good to be back in Colorado.
For the past eight years, I had the pleasure of serving our country first as U.S. Senator and then as U.S. Secretary of the Interior, where I worked to protect the nation's open land and natural resources.
But today I want to email you about protecting a precious resource here in Colorado — Mark Udall. A friend and ally of mine since before our time together in Congress, Mark and I have a long history of working together on key Colorado and Western issues.
At a time when Washington gridlock is at its worst, Mark has consistently done well by the people of Colorado.
He kept his promise to fight to protect clean air, clean water and natural resources. He led the effort to renew the wind Production Tax Credit (PTC), protecting 5,000 Colorado jobs in the wind energy industry in the process.
Meanwhile, Republicans continue to obstruct at every turn. Whether it’s reforming Citizens United, expanding background checks on all gun sales, or passing a jobs package to create hundreds of thousands of jobs, common-sense progress has failed in the U.S. Senate because of Republican filibusters.
Now Republicans want to add to their ranks by defeating Mark. We can’t let that happen.
Mark’s campaign needs to reach its $50,000 fundraising goal by June 30. Can you help today by giving $5?

I’ve been on the ballot in Colorado in some tough election years. Colorado may be purple, but the state leans Republican during midterm elections. We cannot take anything for granted.
The 2010 election to keep Sen. Michael Bennet in my old seat brought in more outside money than anywhere else in the country. And that was the first election following the terrible Citizens United decision. Super PAC money got even worse in 2012. What will 2014 be like?
The best way to fend off the incoming cash will be to bring early money into Mark's campaign from grassroots supporters like you. You see: early money is worth many times the initial contribution. It allows us to create a foundation and grow our grassroots support system — essential elements to defeat the right-wing Super PACs and their right-wing candidates.
Mark needs your help now. Please give $5 today to help him meet his $50,000 end of quarter fundraising goal:

I’m proud of the common-sense work that Mark’s done in the Senate. Let’s make sure he stays there so he can continue to work for the great people of our Colorado.
Thanks,
Ken Salazar

Colorado Republicans have had a difficult time finding a candidate who wants to go up against Udall so they're trying to recruit one:

Colorado Republicans are working to recruit former Colorado House Majority Leader Amy Stephens to challenge Sen. Mark Udall (D).
According to local news site ColoradoPols.com, Republican strategists in the state are urging her to run in a race that currently lacks any likely GOP contenders.
Rep. Cory Gardner's (R-Colo.) decision not to run, though expected, left the state party struggling to find a candidate to challenge Udall.
Stephens formerly worked for conservative group Focus on the Family lobbying on conservative issues, including abstinence education and anti-abortion-rights issues.
But she also drew the ire of some Tea Party supporters in the state when she sponsored a bill to create health insurance exchanges in Colorado, a key component of ObamaCare. - The Hill, 6/21/13
Udall has been one of the best Senators on protecting Americans privacy and civil liberties:

Obama, meanwhile, was scheduled to meet with an oversight board for the first time today to discuss civil liberties and national security. His administration has defended the surveillance, with intelligence officials testifying before a House committee earlier this week that the NSA’s programs had helped to thwart dozens of terrorist plots. Two senators, Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Mark Udall (D-Colo.) disputed that claim:
Wyden and Udall, both members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, acknowledged that “multiple terrorist plots have been disrupted at least in part because of information” from the Internet surveillance program, which is known as PRISM and is authorized under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
But, they said, “saying ‘these programs’ have disrupted ‘dozens of terrorist plots’ is misleading if the bulk phone-records collection is actually providing little or no unique value.”
They said it is unclear why federal agents do not simply obtain a court order for the phone records of individual terrorist suspects rather than creating a massive government database of records . . .
“It may be more convenient for the NSA to collect this data in bulk, rather than directing specific queries to the various phone companies,” said the senators, who have introduced a bill to limit the surveillance. “But in our judgment, convenience alone does not justify the collection of the personal information of huge numbers of ordinary Americans if the same or more information can be obtained using less obtrusive methods.” - Washington Post, 6/21/13
Lets make sure Udall wins next year and lets help fuel his campaign:
