Yesterday I was in übergeek mode as I reveled in the attention my diary, LED Lightbulbs Finally Ready for Prime Time! was receiving.
This is on top of earlier diaries extolling the incredibly promising developments from Tesla, the Chevy Volt and so on, the dramatic increase in both production and efficiency from wind farms and solar arrays and so forth.
And then I read a story like Goodbye, Miami, currently on the Rec list. And I realize that this is all far too little, far too late.
I have a 7-year old son who has already boldly declared that he's going to devote his life to stopping global warming. But I read stories like that and wonder if we're even gonna survive long enough for him to have a shot at trying.
Is this going to be our legacy? Will my son and his classmates be the last generation of humanity?
I'm starting to wonder whether we're using a thimble to bail water off the Titanic here, folks.
