Kalliope
Means "beautiful voice" from Greek καλλος (kallos) "beauty" and οψ (ops) "voice". In Greek mythology she was a goddess of epic poetry and eloquence, one of the nine Muses.

I'm sleepy,
and I'm running late in posting this to the queue,

so,
you get pot luck,

I saw an article in the Wichita Eagle newspaper,

River inside the river.
World within the world.
All we have is words
To reveal the rose
That the rose obscures.

Book Description
Publication Date: November 5, 2008
David Orr's new volume of poetry collects dozens of his strongest, most moving works poems with a social conscience, displaying a deeply profound appreciation for the simple everyday pleasures in life.
In this book, aptly titled Poetry, Mr. Orr's subjects are diverse as he brings the same passion and enthusiasm to each of his sharply observational works. Whether the poet is writing eloquently on "Clouds," "Music," or a "Butterfly," his words connect with a reader, offering much food for thought.
Some of Mr. Orr's poems are powerful through the format of their brevity and clear-eyed view of the world.
Just like me!
I mean,
I don't want to seem arrogant,
but I see little difference between
William Carlos Wiliams,
David Orr,
and myself.
Free verse poetry,
conversational style,
and often stopping to analyze the self,
and the work.

Beautiful & Pointless: A Guide to Modern Poetry
That book title says it all.
That's why I like to write warnings,
warnings about famine in America,
famine by 2050,
famine caused by a shortage of diesel fuel for the planting and harvesting of crops.
Warning folks seems to have more of a point.
The only point to art,
enjoyed for the sheer beauty of it,
the only point of that is,
simply,
savoring the beauty of the art,
and savoring life in general,
as revealed with the help of art.
And that's great.
But I hate to just fiddle while Rome burns,
even if my music sounds truly sweet.
Folks,
I've only read a tiny bit
of William Carlos Williams,
and just what was in the local paper,
of David Orr.
Wait a minute.
That's Gregory Orr.

River Inside the River: Poems by Gregory Orr (Jun 3, 2013)
I wonder if thy're brothers,
or cousins.
Anyway.
Read some poetry,
by those other guys,
and I'm tired,
my butt is sore,
(writing about my butt again?)
and I don't have the patience
to write more verses.
But I have to say,
before I go,
that I truly like the line,
by Gregory Orr:
All we have is words....
And my version of that idea
is presented above,
when I stated that art
helps us see the world.
That's the only use I see for art,
and it's a very big deal,
because maybe,
for many,
the best way to see what's important,
is to let the art,
especially poetry,
show you.
My great ambition is
to bring together
great visionaries
who see the coming famine,
teamed with poets,
including myself,
if allowed,
to reach out to the world,
and show them what's coming.
What do you think?
Thanks for reading.
