Anyone still awake? Results are coming in for two California legislative special elections, in SD-16 and AD-52. The former is very close at the moment, while it looks like only absentees have been counted in the latter. But could the 52nd, which is a 65 percent Obama district, send a Republican and an independent to the second round, thanks to the top-two primary system? Oy vey.

In pretty terrible news, Republican Andy Vidak seems poised to win SD-16, with a 9-point margin over Democrat Leticia Perez with 88% reporting. In better news, we didn't get screwed by the Top 2 primary system this time, with Democrat Freddie Rodriguez heading to the runoff against "Independent" Paul Leon in AD-52.
