I have mixed feelings about Senator Mary Landrieu (D. LA). I don't always agree with her but I always enjoy seeing her make complete asses out of Republicans like Bobby Jindal (R. LA), Ted Cruz (R. TX) and Pat Toomey (R. PA). But I am a fan of James Carville who is helping to fundraise for his fellow Louisianan's 2014 re-election campaign (I also needed a good excuses to use that GIF of Bill Hader):
There's nothing about a tough fight that scares my friend, Mary Landrieu. And let me tell ya, she has one on her hands in 2014. But, she's had tough races since she first ran for Senate in 1996. And like a true fighter, she's already gearing up for her next one.
When she told me she was upping her grassroots fundraising goal in July, I said, "Now, that's a smart move!" Even though Mary outraised her opponents by a country mile last quarter -- her nearest opponent doubled his fundraising pace and her very conservative Tea Party backed challenger raised $1,000 per day over the course of 40 days with grassroots support from the right.
We need your help to make sure Mary stays ahead of these challengers and it's going to take strong fundraising support from grassroots supporters like you.
Contribute $5 today to help Mary Landrieu reach her July grassroots fundraising goal before the month ends tomorrow -- and keep Mary ahead in this race:

With Mary's opponents stepping up their fundraising goals, we're going to have to work harder than a dog trying to bury a bone on a marble floor to stay ahead.
The truth is, Mary's not just running against her declared opponents -- she's running against right-wing special interests groups who will do whatever it takes to defeat her.
This month, Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS organization started running ads targeting Mary, distorting her votes to make one of her strengths -- her constant advocacy and support for children and education -- look like a weakness. It may be a new election, but it's the same old Rove tactics.
Mary and your fellow supporters need you to get in the race, too. If you haven't contributed to this campaign yet, make your first gift of $5 today:

Louisianians like me have always valued Mary's commitment to fighting for them, whether it's improving education or making flood insurance more affordable, but she's got a real tough race going.
The pressure is building and Mary's stepping up to the plate. But, she needs us to stand with her in this fight and it starts with helping her meet this grassroots goal before July ends.
Thank you for helping my friend, Mary.
James Carville
