Like most people, I want someone to pay for the unconscionable chemical weapons attacks on civilians in Syria. I want evil people to be discouraged from doing something as awful in the future. I want a magic bomb that will take out Syria's chemical weapons ability without messing anything else up. It's the "without messing anything else up" part that is the most difficult. Actually, taking out their chemical weapons capability is difficult, too.
Even though using chemical weapons is clearly wrong, the situation in Syria as a whole is not clear at all. Let's imagine we really were an effective global policeman. Once we take out Assad, then what? Conversely, if we don't support the (in many cases jihadist) rebels, aren't we supporting Assad? And that's just the tip of the iceberg. This is one of the most complicated foreign policy situations I've ever tackled in my cartoons, in many ways more complicated than what unfolded in Iraq.
The whole world seems completely impotent when it comes to Syrian foreign policy, yet much of the world seems ready to use Fireagra once again. I just thought we should be clear about the side effects. Now comment, Facebook, email and do all that other good sharing stuff with this cartoon so more people can pay attention to the calamity in Syria, and do something about it.

As the years pass by, time takes its toll.
Rising to the occasion may become more difficult.
Your lack of confidence and passion doesn't have to effect your relationships.
If your foreign policy is impotent in the face of chemical attacks on civilians, you need . . . Fireagra.
Put the power back in your superpower.
Fireagra is America's number one response to foreign policy impotence.
With a proven formula of cruise missiles and air strikes, you'll be able to lay down that red line, for real.
So fire away!
Get back on top with Fireagra.
Because you don't have to live with foreign policy impotence.
[disclaimer/side effects]
Fireagra is not for everyone.
If your firing lasts for longer than eight days, pull out immediately.
In clinical trials, Fireagra has led to civilian deaths followed by unchecked rage and aggression.
Fireagra is not guaranteed to prevent moral obscenities, and in some extremist cases, Fireagra may lead to outbreaks of ascendant jihadists.
Used as directed, Fireagra does not actually prevent foreign policy impotence, but merely increases blood flow and feelings of accomplishment and victorious arousal.
Some users of Fireagra may become dependent and even addicted.
Previous addiction to Fireagra may lead to increased foreign policy impotence, leading to further reliance on Fireagra.
Ask your president if Fireagra is right for you.
