Tonight, Democratic voters in New York are choosing a nominee for public advocate, the position that's first in the line of succession to the mayoralty. In the Sept. 10th primary, City Council Member Letitia James took 36 percent while state Sen. Dan Squadron took 33; since no candidate cleared 40, that prompted the runoff. The winner of the Democratic nomination will be November's overwhelming favorite to fill the seat, which is open because the current incumbent, Bill de Blasio, is running for mayor.
We aren't liveblogging the results, but feel free to use this as an open thread to discuss the returns as they come in.
