EDIT - This diary has been edited to link to the proper source, John Sherffius and acknowledge this as an editorial cartoon, not actual pins.
As an historian and writer, I'm interested in the way that the past informs the present. I started a blog I call "How Did We Get Into This Mess?" precisely to provide historical context to issues that can seem very much of the moment.
This image says it all. Anytime the Democrats try to help people, they will be accused of socialism, as if socialism is somehow disqualifying. And of course of all of these, the ACA is the least socialist, the most corrupted by the profit and greed, and yet is still going to help a lot of people. The pins are not real. The rhetoric is consistent.
So share the image or my tweet if you like, and keep pointing out that the GOP has NEVER been right about any of these programs.
And they aren't right this time either.
