This will be a short diary, so forgive me, but I had to share this.
If the GOP thought they could pin this on President Obama and the Dems, and that it would somehow stick, they have another think coming. New York Daily News isn't the only media outlet that's slamming them with provocative headlines like: "House of Turds."
No, Escquire Magazine's Charles Pierce has a little something for them as well. And it's scathing. LOL Go below the squiggle.
Pierce writes in a piece titled, "Meet the Morons Who Caused the Shutdown:"
"There has never been a single House of the Congress with a more lethal combination of political ambition, political stupidity, and political vainglory than this one."
He proceeds to name
Representative Vicky Hartzler of Missouri who he says, ".
..among other things, Vicky Hartzler apparently believes that the heathen Chinee are spying on us through our toasters." LOL
Next up is Representative Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma. According to Pierce, Mr. Bridenstine has had the distinct honor of launching "himself into the middle of the pack of possible successors to Michele Bachmann as Royal Regent of the Crazy People. (Louie Gohmert is, of course, emperor for life.)"
After this, we have what Pierce calls "A Bedlamite Medley to Mix It Up:"
Here's just a snippet:
With the imminent departure of Michele Bachmann from the World's Greatest Legislative Body today, we are searching for the possible successor to la Bachmann as Royal Regent of the Crazy People. (Louie Gohmert is, of course, emperor for life.) In August, Republican congresscritters were back home among like-minded folks for the August recess and that can mean only one thing, as Fred Caposella used to say before the races at Aqueduct, it...is...now...post...time!
Just yesterday, we learned from Senator Aqua Buddha that no black people that he's been able to find are having their votes suppressed. Now, from Rep. Tom McClintock, we discover that there simply is no such thing as white-collar crime.
I don't want to quote anything else because I'm straining fair use, but he also names,
Representative Steve Fincher of Tennessee,
Representative Michael Burgess of Texas,
Representative Tom Marino of Pennsylvania,
Representative Reid Ribble of Wisconsin,
Representative Blake Farenthold of Texas and finally,
Representative Ted Yoho of Florida.
I urge you to check out the rest of this. It's hilarious. Needless to say the GOP will NOT get away from this debacle unscathed.
