Curiosity more than anything had kept me waiting for this ruling by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow of his May order that Maricopa County sheriff stop using race as a factor in law enforcement decisions, in response to a lawsuit brought by Hispanic drivers that tested whether police could target illegal immigrants without profiling U.S. citizens and legal residents of Hispanic origin.
YESTERDAY`S BROWN FOLKS HAUNT ARPAIO
NOW SHACKLED
A bit familiar with the political clout this jackass has with republicans I really am not too giddy that he won`t find another tool to continue his round-ups of "illegals" in Arizona.
On Wednesday, the same judge ordered parties in the case to agree on the selection of a monitor within 60 days to oversee the work of the 81-year-old lawman, who styles himself as "America's toughest sheriff."
The ruling also orders the sheriff's office to bolster its public outreach efforts, and mandates that deputies must tell dispatchers the reason for any traffic stops before approaching a vehicle.
The only hope that I have for the sake of all those who fell into the clutches of this monster and his goons is the fact that this ruling might be `lights out`and turn out to be against Arpaio, who is facing a lawsuit and investigation from the U.S. Justice Department accusing him of civil rights abuses, denies that he profiles Latinos.
I thought some here are also aware of this case and might have been waiting for results. I
will keep following the toughest sheriff until he bites the dust. In the meantime, its Play-offs on the baseball diamonds that were luckily spared from the `Guvmint shutdown`.
But I`m sure the jackass will fall. He will, slowly, but surely
